Conference Themes

Family law encounters vulnerability in many forms, including socio-economic inequality, domestic violence, child welfare concerns, ageing, disability, and mental health issues.

The conference explores vulnerability in family law by examining:

  • Power and dependency relationships
  • Agency and care structures
  • Relationships between spouses, partners, parents and children
  • Extended family dynamics

National, international, comparative, and interdisciplinary approaches are welcomed.

Participants are welcome to propose individual presentations or collective panels.

Panels may explore various themes, including (but not limited to) the legal dimensions of differential power dynamics present within society, with a particular focus on their impact on access to family justice.

Proposals should be prepared with a proposed title, an abstract of no more than 300 words, and the participant’s name, position, and affiliation.

If the proposal is for a panel, it should also include the names and affiliations of all proposed participants.

The Call for Papers is open here.

The deadline for submissions is January 19, 2026.
