Symposium on Current Developments in Maritime and Insurance Law in Memory of Prof. h.c. Dr. Bülent SÖZER

On October 25, 2024, the Symposium on Current Developments in Maritime and Insurance Law was held in memory of Prof. h.c. Dr. Bülent SÖZER. The event was organized jointly by Piri Reis University Faculty of Law, the Maritime Law Practice and Research Center, and Swansea University Institute of International Shipping and Trade Law.

The opening speech was delivered by Prof. Dr. Nafiz Arıca, followed by memorial speeches from Prof. Dr. Rayegan Kender (former Head of the Maritime Law Department, Istanbul University), Prof. Dr. Haluk Kabaalioğlu (former Dean, Yeditepe University Faculty of Law), and Prof. Dr. Sezer Ilgın (Dean, Piri Reis University Faculty of Law).

The symposium was attended by many distinguished experts, including Prof. Dr. Emine Yazıcıoğlu, Prof. Dr. Samim Ünan, Prof. Dr. Kerim Atamer, Prof. Dr. Ceyda Süral Efeçınar, Prof. Dr. Serap Amasya, Prof. Dr. Barış Soyer, Prof. Dr. George Leloudas, and many others. We extend our gratitude to all participants for their contributions.

The presented papers will be published in a book in the coming days.
